Swine Flu Update
May 02 09
We've been getting lots of inquiries about the flu situation here. As of today, there has not been one reported case of the swine flu in the Riviera Maya and in fact, not one in the entire state of Quintana Roo. The main area of concern is Mexico City which is 1,106 miles from Cancun. There have been some reports that the Cancun airport has been taking extra precautions for departures including screening travelers who may appear to have flu symptoms. I will be heading to the states in a couple of days and will confirm the airport procedures at that time. We aren't walking around with surgical masks on, the shops and hotels are open, and diving is great. Meanwhile we have guests still arriving for their vacations and enjoying every minute of it. For sure, the safest place place to be is underwater, so let's go diving!
